Learning of Barbara Walters’s passing on New Year’s Eve was difficult. I never met her, but I felt like I knew her from watching her on television all these years. 

There is something about her career that has always fascinated me. She wasn’t just a trailblazer. She didn’t simply shatter the glass ceiling. She was more than a leader in her field.

She was Barbara Walters.
